What we keep, why, and how to have it removed.

Version 1, October 2026. Under review by counsel; each point marked “will be confirmed before launch” closes when counsel confirms it.

Who we are

Tribe Giving LLC, trading as Tree of Hope and VIVEKIND, a for-profit company. Tree of Hope is a service of Tribe Giving LLC. vive. is the house it lives in. The service is offered in the United States only, for now.

The one sentence that governs the rest

We keep your name and this address only, so that we can honour your answer, and nothing else.

That is the whole of what we keep about anyone who wrote to us, or whom we wrote to and who answered. Everything below says what “nothing else” means for each kind of person, and how long “keep” is.

If you signed in

Signing in is a link sent to your email. We keep your email address so the link has somewhere to go, and a display name if you give one. There is no password anywhere in the house. One cookie keeps you signed in on this device for up to ninety days; it holds a random token and nothing about you. That is the only cookie we set. No analytics cookies, no pixels, no fingerprinting, no third-party scripts on any page.

If you took a seat or rooted a tree

  • Your name and email address, to sign you in and to send the receipt, the week note and the renewal date. How long after the term we keep them will be confirmed before launch; less, if you ask. The circle sees your display name only.
  • The record of what you paid: amount, date, the last four digits of the card, the receipt or invoice. Kept for as long as the law asks us to keep a payment record; the exact period will be confirmed before launch. Our payment processor, Stripe, holds the card itself; we never see the full number.
  • For a business: the billing contact, the business address, the category, the band and the Root mark year, to invoice, to render the credit line and the mark, and to write the December report. Kept as the payment record above. The outside page shows the business name, its category and the place.
  • Your bank statement line names the product (ViveTree), not the family, not the room.

What we do not keep: which seats are held (nobody inside is told); why you paused; why you left.

If you are inside a tree

We never ask for a diagnosis, a condition, a medication or any medical fact, and we do not collect one. A tree opens on “a family in this community facing a hard year” and nothing more.

There is no journal and no vault in the service yet. The private vault stays closed until our security review is done; when it opens, what the family writes there will be readable by the family alone, and this notice will say so first. Today the inside holds: who is in the circle, the asks the family posted and who took them, the leaves people left, and the week note, which counts visits, meals and lifts and never says who did not come.

Nothing inside is public, nothing is for sale, nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is used to train any model. The December report a business receives has numbers only: never a name, never a condition. The family may export the tree and may ask for it to be deleted. If the worst happens, the tree goes quiet and what the family wrote down governs what stays.

Kim, and Ask Kim

Kim, and Ask Kim inside the house, are software. When you write to either, your words and the reply are sent to Anthropic, whose model drafts the answer, and are kept in your own history inside the service so you can read them again. Anthropic processes them for us as a service provider, under its commercial terms, and we never use them for anything but the reply. Kim keeps the calendar and writes the week note from counts; Kim never reads anything written for the family alone. Neither gives medical advice, and when a message is from software it says so.

If we wrote to you

A business we wrote to exists to us as a public business: its name, street address, category and the words on its own website, each kept with the address it came from and the date we read it. No people’s names, no staff, no customers, no lists bought or scraped. If you reply, we keep the name and address you wrote from so that we can honour your answer. If you say STOP, we keep a one-way hash of your address, forever, only so that we never write to it again; we cannot turn the hash back into the address. If you do not answer, you do not hear from us again, and your details are deleted; when, will be confirmed before launch.

The daily email

If you asked for it, we keep your email address to send it. Every email has a way to stop it, and stopping is honoured within minutes. If you stop, we keep your name and this address only, so that we can honour your answer.

Who handles data for us

Each one holds only what its job needs: Stripe (payments), Supabase (the database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Anthropic (the model behind Kim and Ask Kim). The data-processing terms with each will be confirmed before launch.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent, swap or share anything about anyone for anyone else’s marketing.
  • Advertise, on any page, inside or outside. No advertising network ever sees a page.
  • Give a room a list, or take a list from one.
  • Give a business a name. It is named on the outside and receives numbers in December.
  • Pass money or details to the family. The family’s address is never shared with a business.
  • Claim a health-law status we do not have. We are not a healthcare provider, and we do not claim to be one.

Your rights, now

Write to us by replying to any email from us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it (except the STOP hash, which is a promise, and payment records, which the law asks us to keep), or export your part of a tree. How soon we answer will be confirmed before launch. We do not charge, and we do not treat you differently for asking.

Children: the service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.

If a breach touches your data we will tell you as the law requires; the timing and content of that notice, which differ by state, will be confirmed before launch.

Where this applies

The United States only, for now. A visitor from elsewhere who leaves a name and an email address to be told when we open there is covered by the one sentence above, word for word, and nothing else is collected. Nothing in this notice is an offer anywhere outside the United States.
