Go awayfor one night
For people who look after someone: one night somewhere else, arranged with care, so you can come back rested.
If you look after someone, a night away can feel impossible. This practice is about making one night possible, with the cover in place, so you can sleep somewhere quiet and come back to them.
The steps
Four small steps,in your own time.
Choose a date a few weeks away, so there is time to arrange it.
Ask one or two people to cover: a family member, a friend, the circle. Write down what they need to know: medicines, meals, the numbers to call.
Book somewhere simple and close enough to get back from quickly if you need to.
On the night, eat a meal sat down, go to bed early, and leave the phone on but face down.
The reason
Why it helps
Looking after someone is hard to rest from when you are in the same house. A night away gives the body and mind a proper break, and many carers find they come back steadier. Arranging it carefully means the worry stays at a level you can live with.
A gentle variation
If a night is not possible yet, plan an afternoon: three hours away, the same care in arranging cover.

WE · TRIBE
Try itwith someone.
Ask the people in your circle to plan it with you. When the date is set, the cover is shared, and nobody has to carry the whole night.
Try it today
Choose a date for one night away, and ask one person today whether they could cover for you.
