Build a three-song set
Three songs in order, for one part of your day: one to arrive, one to stay, one to let go.
A set is just a short playlist with a shape. Three songs, about ten minutes, made for one moment you know is coming: the drive home, the washing up, the half hour before bed.
The steps
Four small steps,in your own time.
Choose the moment. Be specific: after the school run, the walk to the bus, the kitchen at six.
Pick the first song to meet you where you are. If you are tired, it can be slow. If you are wound up, it can be loud.
Pick the second to stay with you a while: a song you know all the words to, or one you love and never tire of.
Pick the third to bring you down to where you want to be next. Save the three together and give the set a name.
The reason
Why it helps
Music is one of the quickest ways most of us have to change how an hour feels. A set does the choosing in advance, so on a hard day you press one button instead of scrolling. The shape matters too: starting where you are and ending where you want to be is a gentler path than jumping straight to calm.
A gentle variation
If three feels like a lot to choose, start with one song for the moment and add the other two over the week.
