Let the roombreathe
Open a window wide for five minutes, stand by it, and let fresh air into the room you sleep in.
A small daily habit that changes how a room feels. It takes five minutes, and you can stand in the light while you do it.
The steps
Four small steps,in your own time.
Choose a time you can keep: first thing in the morning, or after cooking.
Open a window wide, and the door on the other side of the room if you can, so air moves through.
Stand by the window for a few breaths and look outside.
After five minutes, close it again, before the room gets cold.
The reason
Why it helps
Rooms that are shut all day can feel close and stale, especially in winter or when someone is in bed a lot. A short, wide opening changes the air without making the room cold for long. The minute by the window, with light on your face, is the part people end up liking most.
A gentle variation
If it is very cold or noisy outside, open it for two minutes. If a window cannot open, open the door to the rest of the home for a while.

WE · TRIBE
Try itwith someone.
If you look after someone who stays in one room, air it while they are sitting up or out of the room, and ask whether they would like to see out for a moment.
Try it today
Tomorrow morning, open the bedroom window wide for five minutes, stand by it for a few breaths, then close it.
