Choose a small palettefor the season
Three or four colours that go together, chosen once for the season, make every morning a little easier.
Most wardrobes already have a palette hiding in them. The clothes you reach for again and again tend to share a few colours. This practice is about finding those colours, naming them, and letting them do some of your deciding for you.
The steps
Four small steps,in your own time.
Take out the ten things you have worn most in the last month and lay them on the bed.
Look for the colours that keep coming back. Choose two quiet ones that go with nearly everything, like navy, grey, cream, olive or brown, and one or two you love, like a deep green, a rust or a soft blue.
Put the clothes in those colours together at the front of the wardrobe or the top of the drawer. Move the rest further back for now.
For the rest of the season, dress from the front first.
The reason
Why it helps
Every morning brings small decisions, and on a hard week even small ones are tiring. With a palette, almost everything at the front goes with almost everything else, so getting dressed takes less thought. It also stops you bringing home things that go with nothing. And seeing your own colours together is a quiet reminder that you have a taste of your own.
A gentle variation
If ten things is too many to lay out, start with one drawer. If you cannot decide on colours, choose by what feels comfortable and leave the colour question for next season.

WE · TRIBE
Try itwith someone.
Ask a friend whose eye you trust to sit with you while you lay things out. People who know you often see your colours more clearly than you do. Then do theirs.
Try it today
Today, lay out the ten things you wear most, pick the three or four colours that keep coming back, and move those clothes to the front.

Wear one thing that feels like you
On a hard week, put on one thing that makes you feel more like yourself: a colour, a jacket, a ring, a scent.

Keep the rail one in, one out
When something new comes into the wardrobe, one thing goes out. The rail stays the same size, and everything on it gets worn.
